    Harmonic Finance are proud to be recruiting on an exclusive basis for one of the UK's Privately Owned multi-site retailers. The role is an initial 6-9 month contract to cover a maternity period for the incumbent FD.

    Company turnover is circa £30 million with a healthy EBITDA and a vibrant office culture.

    The role:

    A full member of the Executive Board, you will balance finance business partnering with a very hands-on team leadership (FC, FM, MA + 4 x junior team) of the department. In this regard the role is a real 'player coach' position that requires someone who remains committed to hands-on overviews of both the balance sheet and FP&A. While you have a private office, culturally finance is outward facing and so a clear, persuasive communicator is required to fit into their culture.


    * To manage and develop a professional and customer focused finance team able to meet the needs of the business and its customers.
    * To operate, review and develop appropriate financial control, processes and systems.
    * To ensure strong controls and reporting are in place for all growth areas identified in the strategic plan, monitor performance against KPIs and assist in analysis to support the strategic direction of the business.
    * Ensure the business complies with all accounting and statutory guidance.
    * To contribute on a broader commercial basis to the development of the business model and operational framework to ensure that the business has a sound platform from which to drive its growth plans within its existing finance facilities
    * Identification and implementation of profit and cash opportunities.
    * To manage and forecast cash flow in order to control and prioritise capital expenditure and projects
    * Responsible for planning, budgeting and forecasting and monitoring against these targets working with the Executive team.
    * To provide information as appropriate to the board
    * To produce Board packs for main board and participate fully in this board, liaising with Non-Executive directors.
    * Evaluate and review potential acquisitions including leading the valuation, due diligence, integration planning and implementation processes

    Qualifications/ education required:

    * An FD or Head of Finance who has several years' experience in a retail/leisure multi-site business.
    * A strong control-based FD, who can demonstrate that have developed new systems and processes as a business has grown whilst maintaining day to day control.
    * Graduate Qualified accountant
    * Hands-on management style, with proven team development capabilities
    * Results driven, capable of prioritising own and team workloads to meet deadlines
    * Strong communicator who is clear and concise.

    Day Rate: £550 - £650
    Start Date: ASAP
