    Senior FP&A Manager (3 - 6 Month Contract) | Energy/Utility Scale-Up | London/Remote



    Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working with one of the UK's fastest growing Energy Retailers. They are currently looking for a senior commercial finance professional to take on a 3-6 month contract with the potential to go perm to help them navigate the through what is likely to be a heavy period of investment activity.



    The business sits in the B2C Energy space with 99% of its revenue coming from its 250,000 customers. They have some smaller revenue streams from new diversification projects including battery energy storage, solar panels and EV charging.



    The company has offices in the West London however, there is the option for fully remote working in this role. After restrictions lift you may be required to go in for ad hoc meetings but on an irregular basis.





    The role:

    This position is heavily weighted on commercial finance with some minor elements of financial control. You will be working very closely with the CEO and founder to report cashflow forecasts, update a complex financial model, prepare monthly board packs and understanding, then subsequently modelling the implications in real time changes to legislation in the energy/utilities sector.

    Responsibilities:

    * Review and sign off on month end accounts, providing guidance and support to more junior member of the control team on any relevant points.
    * Updating the financial model that is connected to an SQL database.
    * Constantly monitoring and updating the cashflow forecasts and mapping the impacts on the company's credit facilities.
    * Comparing the current models to the actuals and making the necessary updates to achieve the highest level of accuracy.
    * Updating the Analytical dashboard (Google Looker) and pushing the data into SQL.
    * Preparing the monthly board packs.
    * Attending regular business partnering meetings to ensure budget holders and senior stakeholders are up to speed with the company's financial position.
    * Working closely with the CEO and founder to ensure the companies financial position and work on a number of strategic projects.





    What we need to see (Essential):

    * Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
    * Experience in or knowledge of the Energy or Utility sector regarding utility pricing and hedging - this is key to success in hitting the ground running.
    * Strong financial modelling experience with an eye for detail.
    * Ability to manage a small team across both operational and commercial finance.
    * Credible with senior stakeholders with evidenced high-level interaction.
    * Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships both internally and externally.





    What we would like to see (Non-Essential):

    * Experience using Google Looker as an analytical dashboard.
    * Wider Operational exposure as is often the case in start-ups.





    Location:

    * West London (Remote with infrequent attendance to the office when required)





    Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 pro-rated for the duration of the contract





    Start date: 4-6 weeks maximum - ideally immediately available.
