    Harmonic Finance are proud to be working exclusively with one of the UK's leading Fintech start-up success stories. Having entered lock-down with an already very healthy balance sheet, they have also subsequently found that changes in B2B business practices during recent months have resulted in a recurring 10x increase in month-on-month revenue.

    The business have already been recognised with fantastic PR in the UK press and we anticipate this to continue stateside in 2021.

    The role

    A newly-created position within the business, you will report directly into a hugely talented (and very nice!) CFO to enable them to drive the international strategic leadership of the business.

    You will focus on the production of the management accounts, P&L and contributions towards the board pack. You will also own the consolidations from the current single European entity (soon to be joined by a US and Asian entity), albeit the accounting is not - we understand- especially complex.

    Stat accounts have historically been outsourced, but you will be given the remit to make the call as to whether these should be in-sourced and led under your remit.

    Although the role may develop more commercial activities as the business continues to scale, it is best suited to candidates who have a passion and aptitude for technical accounting rather than FP&A. And for those candidates who love process analysis and improvement given the the company will continue to scale. Special projects for finance will also come under your remit post-probation (e.g. investigation and procurement of data visualization solutions).

    Please note that candidates must possess the experience and confidence to be able to make authorizations on high value transfers and transactions (on occasion more than £10 million). FCA regulatory reports will also fall under your remit, but no experience of creating these previously is necessary.

    On the transnational side, Accounts Payable is outsourced. As is payroll.

    Duties:

    * Own the production of the P&L and Management Accounts.
    * Produce Board pack commentary alongside the CFO.
    * Ensure accurate and timely delivery of the Statutory Accounts and VAT.
    * (With support) File the FCA regulatory returns.
    * Manage FX policies and processes
    * Work with the CFO to produce budgets and forecasts.
    * Liase with external advisors to recommend efficient and compliant taxation and transfer pricing policies for the future.

    What we need to see (Essential):

    * At least one year's experience in a Financial Controller position.
    * ACA or ACCA fully qualified
    * Experience of accounting to IFRS standards.
    * Experience of consolidating at least one non-UK entity into a UK topco.
    * Ability to work autonomously with very clear boundaries and authorisations.
    * Good values and ethics.

    What we'd like to see (Non-Essential):

    * Some background in Audit would be useful.
    * Fintech or Financial Services (Hedge Fund, Investment Banking, Coprorate Finance, Venture Capital, Private Equity, Asset Management) would be looked upon favourably.
    * Experience within a start-up or scale-up business.

    Salary: £70-80,000

    Remote working post-covid?: Yes. The client have a very marginal preference for the successful candidate to attend the office on occasion, but those candidates seeking a fully remote role long term are very welcome to apply.
