    Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working with one of the UK's fastest growing Software as a Service (SaaS) Start-ups. They have raised over £25m to date via two of the world's most respected VC funds and are on track to close a £30-50m Series C to continue their rapid expansion.

    The business sits in the B2B space and has offices in the UK and US with current headcount of 200. This is set to reach circa 350 by the end of 2021 having already achieved a significant milestone of £20m ARR.

    While currently working remotely they are based in the start-up hub that is Shoreditch in a beautiful office space close to the canal with easy access to restaurants, café's, and bars (perfect for post Covid!). They have an exceptional leadership team and are focused on attracting the 'best and brightest' with a passion for scaling the next major success story in the SaaS space!

    The role:

    Having recently appointed one of Europe's most impressive CFOs with a track record scaling a previous start-up from 30 people to a global multi-billion-pound operation (culminating in a successful exit) this not only represents a fantastic opportunity to learn but to have significant impact and overall oversight of the Finance function.

    Ultimately responsible for running day to day finance the Financial Controller will manage and build a high performing team that will produce monthly management accounts, ensuring all aspects of compliance around Corporation Tax, VAT and Payroll. There will be significant change and process improvement projects as well as exposure to senior stakeholders through supporting the Finance Director (2nd to the CFO) with additional strategic projects including a systems implementation, subsequent systems integrations and projects relating to growth.


    * Oversight of the financial statement, including compilation and reporting, accounting (e.g., payables, receivables, payroll), and closing month end in a timely process.
    * Generate and automate financial reporting, including monthly and quarterly packs for key internal and external stakeholders.
    * Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax and compliance across various international jurisdictions.
    * Develop and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and chart of account infrastructure to efficiently support business scale and activities to standard.
    * Own the relationship and be the primary liaison with external auditors.
    * Review and implement process improvements driving automation across Finance.
    * Heavily participate in numerous strategic projects relating to growth.
    * Production of monthly management accounts, ensuring all aspects of compliance around Corporation Tax, VAT and Payroll.
    * Build and develop a high performing team within operational finance.
    * Supporting the FD and CFO with ad hoc reporting and projects relating to growth.

    What we need to see (Essential):

    * Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
    * Experience in a fast growth scale up or start-up (ideally SaaS).
    * Strong technical accounting grounding with international accounting standards and U GAAP.
    * Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships both internally and externally.
    * Incredibly ambitious with a desire to continue to learn.

    What we would like to see (Non-Essential):

    * Experience in SaaS (Software as a Service) or Enterprise Software
    * Wider Operational exposure as is often the case in start-ups.
    * Experience working on a new ERP system implementation.
    * Demonstrable experience building and managing a finance team.


    * London (Remote initially and circa 3 days a week moving forward)

    Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + bonus + share options (possible flexibility on basic salary for the right candidate)
