    Financial Controller: Experiential Creative Agency

Harmonic Finance are proud to be recruiting on an exclusive basis for the next Financial Controller for one of Europe's leading Independent Creative Agencies. Our client's focus is upon using technology to enhance consumer's experience of online retail experience- a niche which has proved to be very well-timed given both the pandemic and the already significant shift over to e-commerce and 'experience-based' retail.

Under normal circumstances the company is headquartered in a fantastic, well-connected (overground and underground) zone 1 location next to several bars, independent retailers and restaurants. Although are happy to retain a hybrid work-from home and office arrangement post-Covid.

The business is budgeted to deliver £11 million turnover (accounting for reductions due to Covid lockdown) with a healthy EBITDA and balance sheet.

    The role

Reporting into a very experienced Finance Director, your remit will be to bring business as usual finance up to 'best in class standards', before (subject to good performance) being mentored up to the Finance Director position by the current incumbent.

Although the client do not currently have international entities (and you are therefore not required to produce consolidated international accounts or understand international tax right at this point), it is highly likely that they will incorporate in the EU and the USA in the near future as they currently trade via partners in 10 countries. This is therefore a great opportunity to build up some useful international experience in the mid-term. You will have two direct reports: One to manage Assistant Accountant and Payroll duties, and a further colleague who will manage the purchase ledger.

Company culture is professional but informal. There is a drive for high-performance throughout the entire business, but colleagues are given a healthy amount of autonomy and there is a good deal of interaction week-to-week with clients and customers. Good communication and rapport-building skills are therefore very important here.
