    Harmonic are delighted to be working with a culture- focused food business based in Hertfordshire on the hire of an Accounts Assistant. This business has grown substantially over the recent years and has maintained a real family- feel company culture as they have scaled.

    They prioritise their people and really invest in their employees' learning and development across all business functions. They are looking for an Accounts Assistant who will support the Finance Director and have autonomy over the transactional finance and day-to-day processes.

    With the two Founders still leading the business day-to-day, there is a real entrepreneurial spirit in the business and they are expected further growth across the business over the next couple of years. This role will suit someone who is keen to be part of a dynamic, creative and fast-paced environment.

    The Role

    Whilst working closely with the Finance Director, this role will have lots of responsibility for the day-to-day accounting in the business and there's lots of opportunities to improve processes and develop. The role will be looking after but not limited to the following duties:

    * Responsibility for the purchase ledger including invoices and expenses
    * Ensuring that all invoices are posted timely and accurately
    * Posting of bank transactions and weekly transactions (EUR & GBP)
    * Posting journals
    * Supplier statement reconciliations
    * Liaising with suppliers for any invoice queries and responsibility for assigning stock purchase orders
    * Ensuring that suppliers are paid on time
    * Managing credit control and raising sales invoices
    * Liaising with HMRC and external auditors
    * Working with external accountants who prepare management accounts
    * Preparing data and reviewing KPIs
    * Supporting the FD with any ad-hoc duties

    What we need to see

    * 2 years' experience in AP/AR
    * Previous experience using SAP Business One is essential
    * AAT or a desire to study (can be ACCA or CIMA)
    * Great communicator and a real self-starter
    * Good knowledge of excel

    What we'd like to see

    * Experience in a F&B or stock business

    Salary: up to £30,000 (depending on experience)
