VP of Finance | Vegan Meat Start-Up | Remote (EST)

The Client

Harmonic is proud to be working on an exclusive basis with a dynamic and innovative vegan meat start-up who are looking to hire a VP of Finance.

With the vegan market exploding, this company is following trend and has disrupted the New York start up scene. This business has had rapid success with securing deals with popular grocery stores such as Whole Foods and Trader Joes and most recently won several food awards. With its bright, cool branding, this company is attracting a whole new audience to the meatless meat scene.

This vegan meat starts up just closed a Series B of $30 million and have plans to double headcount from 50 to 100 in 2023. In 2022 the company expanded across the U.S. market and now have plans to distribute internationally,

This business is extremely exciting in the sense that it is new, vibrant, pioneering, and non-corporate. The workspace in New York is modern and collaboration, openness and staff wellbeing are some of the main traits the company thrives on. Our client will also consider fully remote candidates on the EST time zone, if they're open to occasional trips to NYC!

The Role:

The VP of Finance will report to the CFO and CEO and will oversee the rest of the accounting and finance team. This role will allow the VP of Finance to be exposed to independently running a well well-oiled finance machine to help the next stage of growth that the company is looking to achieve.

Duties:

  • Responsible for building out a high performing finance function
  • Extensive liaising with stakeholders to provide financial updates
  • In depth analysis of the company's performance alongside analysis of new opportunities
  • Responsible for all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, marketing, HR, product, and sales team to improve internal reporting processes.
  • Ad hoc strategy projects
  • Develop and manage relationships with external accountants and auditors
  • Support and work closely with accounting manager and financial analysts

Essential Experience:

  • 5 + years of experience in FP&A
  • Experience with a consumer goods or product business.
  • Experience in a fast-growth start-up
  • Excellent communication and personable skills
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP

Non-Essential Experience:

  • Working within the food and beverage industry
  • Experience in scaling a business internationally

Salary: $225,000 - $275,000 + Bonus + Equity
