VP FP&A | Fast Growing Entertainment Studio | Hybrid
The Client
Harmonic are thrilled to be partnering with a fast growing independent TV/Film studio in their search for a Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis. Living on Netflix's Trending section, they've created some of your favorite Movies, TV series and Documentaries with many of their productions becoming household names. Our client is looking for an individual that will thrive in a collaborative, high-energy environment.
The Role
As the VP of FP&A, you'll own financial strategy reporting directly into the CFO of a globally established business., You'll play a key role in supporting the company's continued growth, ensuring financial processes are sound and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage financial planning activities, including annual budgets, monthly reports, quarterly reforecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
- Implement and enhance the structured budgeting and forecasting process across all business units.
- Ensure forecasts align with financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow) to maintain accuracy.
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and key financial KPIs to provide actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports to senior leadership, lenders, and key stakeholders.
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies while maintaining business unit operations.
- Lead financial compliance efforts to ensure the timely delivery of required documents.
- Manage ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as needed.
- Oversee the expanding FP&A function, including team members in the FP&A function and subsidiary finance organizations.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in the entertainment, TV/Film, Media is preferred.
- At least 7 years of relevant finance experience, ideally with a background in banking and/or FP&A.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex contracts, including various types of agreements
- Experience with financial reporting across multiple platforms, including Intacct, Excel, and other financial systems.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in analyzing and managing large datasets; experience with tools like Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
Bonus Skills (Non-essential but desirable):
- Investment Banking Experience
- CPA or other advanced certifications in accounting or finance.
- Experience in M&A and post-merger integration is highly valued.
Salary: $225,000-$260,000
