Staff Accountant | Hyper Growth BioTech Company | Boston

The Client:

Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working with one of Boston's most promising BioTech start-ups that are using cutting-edge technology to change the lives of many.

To date they have raised over $300million of funding from some of the world's leading VC funds. The business is growing rapidly with their head count doubling over the past year. This role would suit a confident and driven individual, who would like to join a mission-focused business.

Culturally the business is filled with incredibly talented, ambitious people and the impressive senior leadership team are renowned for their emphasis on training and development. They are keen to add someone to the company who is fun, hardworking and wants to progress their career quickly.

This company offers flexible working and would like the successful candidates to work 1-2 days a week from their beautiful non-corporate offices in Boston.

The role:

This role will be an integral part of the finance team and will work closely with the Controller. There will be additional opportunities to get involved in ad-hoc finance projects that will help to form the future of the company. Given the rapid growth and pace of change, this role needs someone with an eye for process improvement and real willingness to get stuck into the detail.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the general accounting process by preparing journal entries

• Assist with the month-end close process which includes preparing balance sheet reconciliations and P&L accounts

• Prepare supporting account reconciliations for multiple divisions

• Oversee Accounts Payable processes

• Oversee payroll duties

• Responsible for fixed asset accounting

• Support with external financial statement audit and other audit requests

• Ad hoc project support to both Finance and Accounting functions

What we need to see (Essential):

• A Bachelor's degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field)

• 1-2 years' experience in accounting

• High degree of attention to detail and accuracy

• Incredibly ambitious with a desire to continue to learn

• Excited about working somewhere which is changing every day

• Strong analytical skills and experience using data to help make strategic decisions

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP

What we would like to see (Bonus):

• CPA license

• Previous experience in Big 4 public accounting

• Experience in a fast growth scale up or start-up

• Experience in a fast-paced environment

• Experience in biotech industry

• Bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, and Payroll experience are a plus

Location: Boston (Hybrid)

Salary: $75,000 - $110,000 + Bonus + Benefits + Equity
