Harmonic are excited to be retained by a rapidly growing Online Marketplace in their search for a Senior Management Accountant to join the team ASAP on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
Their innovative digital marketplace platform has attracted investment from several top-tier Venture Capital funds (early backers of Spotify, Depop and Canva), and is now rapidly expanding internationally, having grown from c.£25m > £125m revenue in the last 4 years and showing no signs of slowing down. The Senior Management Accountant will therefore play a central role in preparing the business for its next leap in scale and strengthen management accounts across multiple business units.
This is an important role, involved with the highest growing business unit and is a tech scale-up that has real traction, world-class investors and career-defining growth opportunities.
The Role:
This is a broad position that not only involved producing insightful management accounts, providing analysis to business partners, but also has elements of budgeting and forecasting with one of the Business Units.
This role is highly visible working beyond just numbers and providing insightful views into investment, profitability and strategy. The role has exposure to the fastest growing BU and is an integral part to the success of that BU.
Responsibilities:
- Own and lead the BU P&L, delivering clear and insightful commentary across revenue, costs, margins, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the business unit, partnering closely with Commercial Finance to improve accuracy, accountability, and decision-making
- Act as a strategic business partner to senior business leaders, influencing decisions around growth, profitability, and return on investment.
- Provide high-quality financial insight to senior stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable narratives.
- Represent Finance in key leadership and cross-functional forums, ensuring strong alignment between business units and central finance teams.
- Identify emerging risks and opportunities early, recommending actions to mitigate downside or unlock value.
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting and insight, championing automation, standardisation, and improved financial literacy across the business.
What we need to see (essential):
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Self-starter who has worked in a dynamic, scaling environment
- Strong experience with month-end reporting, management accounts
Nice to have (bonus skills):
- Business Partnering and budgeting/forecasting experience
- Online Marketplace, Online Consumer, Tech, Ecommerce or adjacent industries
Location: Central London (Hybrid Option - 3 days in office / 2 from home)
