The Client

We are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with an innovative, hyper growth Electric Vehicle (EV) scale-up business looking to revolutionise the way in which freight is transported by implementing their unique battery powered platform on an international scale.

This is an opportunity to work for an incredibly well funded business with impressive founders that foster a hugely entrepreneurial environment. The growth plans are extremely impressive, and the business expects to be bringing in a significant amount of funding over the next few years.

Now they are looking to hire a Senior FP&A Manager to be the interface between Engineering and Finance, build their commercial finance function, and support their continued expansion. The company offers a fast-paced environment, full of motivated and passionate people - if you are an over-achieving, ambitious FP&A Manager with experience working in a rapidly scaling environment this is for you.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO the Senior FP&A Manager - Engineering will be responsible for the end-to-end operational finance function, covering all aspects of financial control. The company is scaling rapidly so they are currently operating a lean team which means this role will be very hands on including month end processes, production of the monthly management accounts, and working on several high-level projects to help the business transition into a best-in-class finance function.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the effective delivery of the financial planning and analysis for Engineering
  • Preparation of insight and analysis to highlight trends and inform decision making
  • Manage business planning and forecasting, scenario modelling, management reporting, and supporting business performance analysis across the Engineering department
  • Lead and contribute to a range of high value projects
  • Feed into the annual budget creation and process
  • Regular re-forecasting cycle updates for the Engineering department
  • Monthly cashflow and P&L forecast vs actuals analysis
  • Automation of financial and operational forecasting process
  • Business partnering with key stakeholders in the Engineering department
  • Engage with product and commercial teams on new product initiatives, pricing and other similar commercial finance activities
  • Drive savings in the business

What we need to see (essential):

  • A strong background in finance or qualified accountant
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in the fast-paced and complex environment of a start-up
  • Knowledge of and experience in the automotive or engineering sectors
  • Ability to manage up and challenge senior stakeholders when necessary
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, hands-on approach, practical and enthusiastic
  • Strong team leadership and interpersonal skills

What we'd like to see (bonus):

  • Experience working in a rapidly scaling environment
  • Knowledge of and experience in EVs would be advantageous
  • Any French language skills would be beneficial
  • Experience in an R&D environment.

Salary: $140,000 - $170,000 + bonus + benefits
