Senior Finance Manager | Innovative Design-Led Scaleup | London
Harmonic are proud to have been retained by a disruptive design business in their search for a Finance Manager who will partner with the Founders to scale the business from £10m to £30m turnover. This role is well suited to a highly skilled individual who thrives in a fast-growth, dynamic environment, and is looking for clear progression to the Head of Finance level.
The Client
This role has been newly created in response to their continued growth. With a reporting line into the Founders and the Fractional CFO, this role joins a scaleup which has experienced year-on-year growth, seeing turnover exceed £15m while maintaining a close-knit team of 25. As a result, there is a genuine opportunity for a Senior Finance Manager to make their mark on their next phase of growth. This position will oversee expansion into international markets, scale the finance function, improve processes, and support strategic decisions that drive profitability and growth.
The nature of our clients revenue streams are diverse, with a focus on sustainability sourced and elegantly designed products, paired with a design service element. Our ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of process improvement and automation, navigating a high growth environment, building and managing a finance team, and partnering with senior leadership.
The Role
This Finance Manager role has a clear progression route to the Head of Finance level as the business continues to scale. This role will be strategically influential - partnering with the directors to provide financial insight, developing financial models, analyse profitability, improve systems and processes, and increase financial visibility. As well as a senior reporting line and chance to influence and shape a finance function this role will also oversee a Finance Assistant who manages the end-to-end transactional finance (AP & AR) piece.
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, analytical and driven to build a best in class finance function. As well as a great team and continued growth, sustainability sits at the epicentre of the business and their decision making processes. In this role, you'll be an integral part of their ongoing growth journey and help to frame this next phase of development.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Founders and senior leadership team to provide strategic and commerical financial insight
- Drive process automation and improve efficiency across finance and operations. Reviewing processes, automating through plug-ins and Ai etc
- Built, mentor, and develop a small but high-performing finance team which currently oversees accounts payable and accounts recievables processes
- Analyse product profitability, pricing strategies, and cost management (unit economics)
- Produce monthly management accounts and company board pack reports
- Manage cash flow forecasting and the budgets & forecasts process (alongside experienced Fractional CFO)
- Liase with external auditors/accountants on the production of Statutory Accounts / year end accounts
- Ensure that systems are maintainted / any ad-hoc projects to improve reporting cycles etc
What our client needs to see (essential):
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS)
- Experience in a fast-growth, SME environment
- Excellent communication skills, especially with senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders
What we'd like to see (non-essential):
- Experience in retail, ecommerce, consumer, FMCG, manufacturing, furniture, interiors, product, design services
- Experience with WIP / Project accounting
- Systems savvy with exposure to Xero
- Strong passion for design and sustainability
Location: Hybrid
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + benefits
