Job description

Senior Finance Manager | Global Production SME | London / Hybrid

Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with an ambitious, creatively led production business to recruit a Senior Finance Manager.

Our client operates at the intersection of luxury, photography, and digital content. They have an international presence and a reputation for delivering exceptional, high-end work. They are at an exciting inflection point, investing in the people and processes needed to support their next phase of growth, and finance sits at the heart of that.

This is a rare opportunity to join a business where the finance function genuinely matters. You'll have the chance to contribute not just to controls and reporting, but to commercial decision-making, project profitability, and the strategic direction of the group.

The Role

As Senior Finance Manager, you'll take end-to-end ownership of the group's financial operations, from bookkeeping and cash management through to management accounts, project finance, and commercial business partnering. With the support of an outsourced finance team, you'll be tasked with insourcing some functions (while operations like payroll and year end will remain outsourced), implementing processes, and eventually expanding the finance function to be much more commercial.

You will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership, as well as producers and project teams, bringing structure and clarity to a fast-moving environment. This is a hands-on, broad role that combines technical rigour with genuine commercial influence.

For the right person, there is meaningful scope to grow with the business as it scales internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the accounting function across the group with the help of an outsourced finance team
  • Prepare and maintain monthly management accounts, delivering timely and accurate reporting to leadership
  • Own cash flow forecasting, with rolling projections to support strategic decision-making
  • Manage VAT returns and maintain forward VAT planning, alongside liaison with external advisors on tax credit opportunities
  • Manage inter-company accounting and cross-border transactions across the group's international entities
  • Support and advise producers and project teams on budgets, payment schedules, and commercial risk
  • Drive project margin control, identify efficiencies and learnings
  • Lead client communication on invoicing, payment schedules, and outstanding balances
  • Coordinate with external accountants across year-end, payroll, and statutory reporting cycles
  • Develop financial dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility across the business
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership on the development of new commercial initiatives, bonus and commission structures, and scalable finance processes
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the wider business

What We Need to See (Essential)

  • Proven experience managing finance within a creative agency, production company, or media business
  • Strong hands-on bookkeeping capability combined with commercial and strategic thinking
  • Exposure to Xero

Package: Salary: £60,000-£70,000 (with flexibility DOE) Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days per week in office, 2 work from home)
