Senior Accountant | VC-Backed FinTech Start Up | New York

The Client:

Harmonic are proud to be working with one of New York's fastest growing FinTech businesses that are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their accounting function and help continue their exciting growth.

This disruptor has regularly returned monthly double-digit revenue growth and has secured almost $300M funding to date. Their mission is to provide tech-enabled financial solutions to help consumer brands grow and scale and they are working with some of the most innovative financial technology in the US.

You will be joining an exceptionally bright and passionate team who are all renowned for their collaborative ethos towards training and development.

The role:

The Senior Accountant will be an integral part of the finance team and will work very closely with the VP of Finance to manage the accounting processes. This role will suit a self-starter who will relish this opportunity to be deeply involved in the growth and success of the business and shape team culture. There will be additional opportunities to get involved in ad-hoc finance projects that will help to form the future of the company. Given the rapid growth and pace of change, this role needs someone with an eye for process improvement and real willingness to get stuck into the detail.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with month end close processes and ensure compliance with US GAAP

• Support continued development of best practices in a SOX control environment

• Support with the management of the Accounts Payable processes

• Implement and review new accounting processes where necessary

• Production of management accounts and account analysis

• Support with quarterly reviews and annual audit process

• Streamline current processes for maximum efficiencies in the accounting process

• Ad hoc project support to both Finance and Accounting functions

• Support the Tax Manager in preparation of the annual tax return.

What we need to see (Essential):

• A Bachelor's degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field)

• 2+ years of Big 4 financial audit or tax advisory experience

• Self-starter who independently drives projects to completion

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including comfort interacting with senior level executives

• Incredibly ambitious with a desire to continue to learn

What we would like to see (Bonus):

• CPA license

• Experience in a fast growth scale up or start-up

• Experience in a fast-paced environment

• Experience in Fintech/Tech industry

• Experience with tax

Location: New York (Hybrid)

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
