About the Role:
As the Senior Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role on the leadership team and report directly to the Global Accounting Manager. You will help lead a dynamic finance team, improve their ability to manage multiunit concepts, and enhance internal processes with the use of technology. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive background in accounting, proven experience in the restaurant or hospitality sectors, and a strategic mindset to guide their team in delivering fully accurate and reliable figures.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the month-end close process, including preparing and posting journal entries, managing accruals, and reconciling balance sheet accounts with detailed support schedules.
- Review vendor invoices, resolve payment issues, and ensure timely, accurate processing of expenses in alignment with company policies and contract terms.
- Compile and present GAAP-compliant financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Research and document complex accounting matters, including significant estimates and evolving accounting standards, providing clear guidance on treatments.
- Support external audits and quarterly financial reviews by coordinating with auditors and supplying necessary documentation.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting, pulling data from multiple systems to support business decisions.
- Create and update documentation for accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Continuously assess and refine accounting processes, identifying areas for increased efficiency and automation.
- Partner with internal teams and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely submission of multi-jurisdictional tax filings, including sales, property, payroll, and income taxes.
What we need to see (Essential):
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline
- 3 years+ accounting
- CPA designation is a plus
- Familiarity with NetSuite or comparable ERP platforms
- Collaborative approach, valuing teamwork and clear communication across departments
What we would like to see (Non-essential):
- Experience in an accounting leadership role
- Hospitality, restaurant, retail expertise
- Familiarity of fast-casual dining operations
Location: Hybrid (NYC)
Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 + equity
