The Client:

Harmonic Finance are proud to be working with one of Boston's most promising BioTech companies that are using cutting-edge technology to change the lives of many.

This company offers flexible working and would like the successful candidates to work 3 days a week from their beautiful offices in Boston.

The role:

This role will be an integral part of the finance team and will work closely with the Director of Finance and Associate Director of External Reporting. The Senior Accountant will play an essential part in the month-end close, will help implement new accounting policies and procedures. There will be additional opportunities to get involved in ad-hoc finance projects that will help to form the future of the company. Given the rapid growth and pace of change, this role needs someone with an eye for process improvement and real willingness to get stuck into the detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee monthly and quarterly account reconciliations for multiple divisions

  • Assist with the management of the Accounts Payable processes

  • Assist with the full month-end and ensure compliance with US GAAP

  • Implement and review new accounting processes where necessary

  • Review P&L accounts

  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.

  • Production of management accounts and account analysis

  • Support with annual audit process and other audit requests

  • Assist with implementation of Sarbanes and Oxley Internal Controls

  • Streamline current processes for maximum efficiencies in the accounting process

  • Assist with SEC 10Q and 10K reporting

  • Ad hoc project support to both Finance and Accounting functions

    What we need to see (Essential):

  • A Bachelor's degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field)

  • 2 - 4 years of public accounting experience

  • Experience with GAAP financial reporting

  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Incredibly ambitious with a desire to continue to learn

  • Excited about working somewhere which is changing every day

  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data to help make strategic decisions

    What we would like to see (Bonus):

  • CPA license

  • Previous experience in Big 4 public accounting

  • Experience in a fast growth scale up or start-up

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in Biotech/Tech industry

  • Bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, and Payroll experience are a plus

  • Experience with NetSuite

    Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 + Bonus + Equity
