The Client

Harmonic are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading M&A (mergers & acquisitions) firm in Massachusetts (Greater Boston). We have been asked to recruit the 'best and brightest' to lead a high performing team that will help the business to scale. They are looking for someone that brings with them a wealth of knowledge in M&A and the energy sector (Renewable and Energy Technology).

The leaders of this firm are experts in their field and passionate about what they do. They currently complete around 20 transactions a year with the majority ranging between $50m and $100m. They provide leading tech businesses from all over the US with a top tier advisory service and a bespoke execution strategy for each of their engagements.

This firm is renowned for their values-driven ethos and collaborative working culture. They are professional without being overly corporate with a modern office space and diverse workforce.

The Role

Looking for a client facing and strategic MD with extensive experience in winning business and building out a division, this role is an integral part of the Senior leadership team. As the MD you are expected to be one of the main driving forces in the expansion of the business. You will be responsible for leading your departments business development, value propositions and managing the full cycle of the deal from first point of contact to completion.

  • Identify transaction opportunities across small-mid Energy and Tech businesses
  • Bring new clients into the firm and manage the full deal process (M&A, Private Equity or Venture Capital fundraising)
  • Assess value propositions and launch strategies of potential new clients
  • Work with and build a high performing Analyst team to produce pitch decks, detailed financial analysis and financial modelling
  • Make deal engagements and have a clear strategy to obtaining offers
  • Manage the timely delivery of all documentation for materials and proposals
  • Event speaking and representing the business in marketing and sales promotions
  • Work closely with the CEO and CFO on project-based tasks
  • Hire, train and mentor a robust team for your division
  • Ambassador of the company values

What you need

  • M&A Investment banking or M&A advisory experience
  • Experience in Energy sector (ideally Renewable or Energy Tech)
  • Track record of successful client acquisition
  • Extensive connections within corporate finance and private equity community
  • In depth understanding of financial analysis
  • Ability to critique and analyze financial models

What we'd like to see:

  • Excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to develop strong influential relationships
  • MBA qualified
  • Previous experience leading M&A in Energy Tech

Location: Massachusetts (initially remote)

Salary: OTE $500,000+ annually + benefits + generous uncapped commission structure
