Harmonic are excited to be working with a rapidly growing Music business who are looking to recruit a Management Accountant professional.

The Client

Founded by two young, dynamic entrepreneurs, this exciting and ambitious scale-up record label business is one of the fastest growing in the U.K music industry and has recently undergone a substantial backing from a top tier private equity fund as it continues into the next phase of growth. With forecasted revenue growth of 100% going into 2023 and the goal to double the number of employees over the next 2 years, the business is looking for a committed and enthusiastic management accountant to help facilitate this expansion, both domestically and internationally. This position will provide direct exposure to the Financial Controller with a competitive starting salary and plenty of scope for future career progression.

The company is extremely value led, currently located in a vibrant new office space in London with great communal areas, accessible transport links and lots of great restaurants and bars located within walking distance. The company culture revolves around cooperating and working as a team but also having fun, so it is essential you enjoy working closely with others. There is also flexibility within the role to work from home 2 days a week, however it is important to have a consistent presence in this office in accordance with the company's ethos around teamwork.

The role:

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant role will involve producing management accounts with commentaries, invoicing queries, and working with stakeholders to support commercial business.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your personal skillset and learn from the company's leadership team with vast amounts of knowledge and experience within the music industry, all whilst working with innovators from the music industry. The role will include:

  • Preparing month end management accounts
  • Assisting in Group reporting and forecasting
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations,
  • Accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset management
  • Produce monthly finance reporting packs, including KPI reporting
  • Intercompany reporting
  • Ad hoc reporting, servicing, and capacity planning
  • Manage Client accountant and Finance assistant
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Analysis of monthly management information regarding performance vs budgets
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports for the business

What we need to see (essential):

  • Part-Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA looking to complete their qualification
  • Prior experience working in the Creative Industries (Music, TV, Film, Entertainment, Media)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and a team player with a keen interest in the music industry

What we'd like to see (bonus):

  • Previous Start-up / Scale-up experience
  • Music experience preferable, but not essential
  • Knowledge of Excel
  • Strong analytical skills

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + bonus + benefits package
