PQ Management Accountant | High Growth Fintech Start-Up | North Kent - Hybrid (2 days / week)

We are delighted to be working with an extremely high growth Fintech start-up that has established a real foothold in the payments space over the past 24 months. Since being acquired by a Private Equity (PE) company they have made 3 acquisitions and raised over £100m!

The business is based in state-of-the-art offices in North Kent just a stone's throw from London. They have a hugely experienced and impressive leadership team that have brought in top tier investors and aim to scale to company rapidly over the coming months.

They are now looking for a Part Qualified Management Accountant to support with their continued expansion and manage / train junior members of staff as they take on more and more businesses.

The role

Reporting into the Finance Manager and Head of Financial Control, you will be responsible for management accounts production as well as a team of junior staff in AP and AR. An ambitious up and coming accountant with some commercial finance skills that has thrived in a fast-paced environment will do well here.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and presenting monthly management accounts.
  • Oversight of cash management / treasury including cashflow forecasting on a weekly basis.
  • Point of contact for company audits.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Produce monthly and annual accounts and regular balance sheet updates.
  • Relationship management with banks, credit control agencies, and investors.
  • Manage bank reconciliation in accounting software.
  • Manage payroll, VAT returns, R&D tax claims and grants claims / audits.

What we need to see (essential):

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified.
  • Proven technical expertise covering both management accounting and transactional finance.
  • Ability to build and adjust budgets and forecasts, including cash flow forecasts.
  • Cash flow management, management accounting, financial reporting.
  • Ability to prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyse complex and large data sets, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to use IT systems to effectively deliver service.
  • Pro-active self-starter attitude with a process driven approach to work.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment.
  • Strong organisational skills.

What we'd like to see (bonus):

  • Experience working in a PE backed environment.
  • Experience using a variety of accounting software beneficial.

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 + benefits

Start date: ASAP
