Management Accountant | Fast Growth SME | 6 Month FTC

The Client

Harmonic are delighted to be working with a rapidly scaling SME to find them a commercially astute Management Accountant or Junior Finance Manager on a 6-month Fixed-Term Contract, with the possibility of being transferred to permanent employment thereafter.

Our client has experienced significant growth over the past several years and is building an extremely high calibre team off the back of this to take them through their next stage of scaling. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone looking to add value to a business quickly, as well as learning from a high achieving team. This role will suit someone who can work efficiently within a fast-paced environment.

The role

This position will work very closely with the finance director and exposure to the executive team, as well as the opportunity to collaborate cross-departmentally. The role will focus primarily on commercial and supply chain optimization, as well as supporting an ongoing ERP project. Product or COGS experience is highly preferred given the nature of their business model. The ideal candidate would have proven experience as a Management Accountant, Finance Analyst, or Junior Finance Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present revenue & COGS reports.
  • Detailed variance analysis.
  • Monthly Management Accounts and month end close.
  • Budgeting & forecasting.
  • VAT returns
  • Stock reporting.
  • Act as a business partner to operations & supply chain teams.
  • Monitor cashflow.
  • Review financial performance of the business.
  • Support the Finance Director with an ERP Project.

Essential Skills

  • Part-Qualified or QBE Accountant.
  • Ability to work well independently when required, as well as part of a larger team.
  • A willingness to roll up sleeves and get hands on with finance.
  • Proven ability to improve financial processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP or finance systems.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to understand and analyse COGS.

Bonus Experience

  • Experience in a Food / Beverage, Engineering, Manufacturing, or construction would be a bonus.
  • Experience working on an ERP optimisation project

Location: East Sussex (Hybrid)
