Job description

Interim Senior Tax Manager | High-Growth Global Consumer Brand | London/Hybrid

Harmonic are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a high-growth, globally recognised consumer brand in their search for an Interim Senior Tax Manager on a 6-month contract, with strong potential to extend.

Renowned for its creativity and international reach, the business operates across multiple regions and continues to scale rapidly. Backed by world-class investors and supported by a high-performing finance function, the organisation is entering an exciting phase of global expansion and increasing tax complexity. This role will suit a commercially minded tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Tax, this is a senior advisory-focused role within the Global Tax team. You will provide direct tax support across the group, lead on key international tax projects, and play a central role in shaping and embedding the group's direct tax strategy.

While primarily advisory, the role will also include review and oversight of direct tax compliance activities managed by regional finance teams and external advisors. You will partner closely with Finance, Legal, Sales, and other functions to support strategic decision-making as the business continues to grow internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted tax advisor to the business, supporting senior stakeholders on commercial decisions with direct and international tax implications.
  • Own the group's transfer pricing approach, including policy design, ongoing governance, and coordination with external advisors.
  • Play a key role in ensuring the business is well-prepared for changes in global tax regulation, including Pillar 2 and CbCR requirements.
  • Partner with teams across Finance, Legal, Sales, and Operations on strategic and transformation initiatives, providing clear tax guidance.
  • Develop and embed effective direct tax processes, controls, and practical guidance to support the group's wider tax strategy.
  • Provide oversight and review of direct tax compliance activities, supporting regional finance teams with local tax matters where required.
  • Manage external advisor relationships and engage with tax authorities on direct tax topics as appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and enhance existing tax processes while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute tax expertise to finance systems upgrades and wider finance transformation programmes.

What We Need To See (Essential):

  • 7+ years' relevant tax experience, with strong UK corporate tax knowledge and broad international exposure.
  • Background spanning professional services (Big 4 or top-tier advisory preferred) and in-house experience within a multinational environment.
  • Qualified CTA or equivalent tax-focused qualification.
  • Strong ability to form independent views on complex tax issues and communicate them clearly to non-tax stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing priorities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
