Interim Head of Finance (Mat. Cover) | Art Gallery | London

Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working with one of the most dynamic and diverse art galleries in London, supporting them with their search for an Interim Head of Finance. This 12-month fixed term contract allows finance professionals to cultivate their management skills within a pioneering institution.

With a legacy spanning over a century, this organization recognises the transformative power of art in pushing boundaries and shaping cultural landscapes. Through global exhibitions and educational initiatives, our client is dedicated to delivering impactful experiences and igniting imaginations. As an interim Head of Finance, you will work at the centre of this cultural hub on a hybrid basis, ideally going in 3 days per week to the premises in Central London.

The Role:

Covering for the Head of Finance while on maternity leave, you shall oversee the finance team and work closely with the senior management team to deliver the Board's strategic objectives. Reporting to the Deputy Director, you shall oversee finances and governance across the gallery whilst you and act as line manager to the Finance Manager and Finance Assistant. You will be responsible for handling cash-flow and producing management accounts, budgets, financial reports, and forecasts as part of wider FP&A duties. You shall also review tax compliance, systems efficiencies and deliver reports to the Finance and Operations Committee and Board of Trustees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing finance and governance across the organisation
• Managing cashflow, budgeting, and financial forecasts
• Developing financial reports and financial models
• Reviewing tax compliance
• Presenting to Senior management to support business strategy
• Managing relationships with banks, investment managers, auditors and tax advisors
• Overseeing the Finance Manager and Finance Assistant
• Ad-hoc projects to support the business

What we need to see (essential):

• Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / ICAEW or equivalent)
• Previous experience working in the charity/non-profit sector
• FP&A proficiency
• Team management
• Strong communication skills

What we need to see (bonus):

• Previous experience using Sage 50
• A passion for the arts

Salary: £50,000-£60,000 pro rata
