Interim Head of Finance | Fast Growth B2C Travel Scale-Up | Remote

The Client

Harmonic are delighted to be working with a rapidly growing B2C scale-up in the Travel space to find them an Interim Head of Finance on a 12-month contract. Since launching their service post-covid, our client has expanded rapidly, fuelled by a recent successful fundraise, led by a notable VC firm in the space, which secured significant capital for growth. With sustained growth, comes the need for not only a commercially astute accountant, but also an expert leader.

Our client, who are a remote first business but with a hub in central London, has grown in headcount over recent years reaching 75 strong this year. They are therefore looking for someone who is comfortable working in a remote capacity first but is open to commuting to London occasionally to meet the team.

The Role

They require an exceptional finance leader who has recently been a Financial Controller or Head Finance (number 2 in finance) with a start-up/scale-up business. This role will report into the talented CFO and oversee the day-today running of the finance function. The successful candidate must also be versatile, adaptable and have excellent business partnering skills, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders. Experience within a B2C business is also preferred but not essential. This role is perfect for an experienced Head of Finance or financial controller looking to take the next step up in their career.

Responsibilities

• Partner across the business offering a financial perspective to assist with strategic decision making.
• Provide key analysis and financial insights.
• Ensure the finance function is robust for scaling through automation, process implementation/improvement, and software implementation where necessary.
• Act as a mentor to the more junior finance team.
• Be the right-hand person to the CFO.
• Annual, Monthly, & Quarterly forecasting.

Essential Experience

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Experience as a number 2 in finance at a fast growth start-up/scale-up with a headcount up to 200.
• Experience with process improvement, automation, and software implementation.#
• Strong knowledge of forecasting models and data analysis.

Bonus Experience

• Experience in Travel or Travel Tech industry is preferred but not essential.
• Proficient user of Xero accounting software.

Location: Remote

Start Date: Mid to late January.

Day Rate: £400-£600/day Inside IR35

Salary: £80,000-£90,000 + Benefits
