Interim Group Financial Controller | Internationally Scaling Events Business | 12-Month Contract

Harmonic are delighted to be working with an exciting and scaling Events company to find them a highly experienced Group Financial Controller on 12-Month Contract. The established company are doing business across 5 continents, with significant event engagements in the UK, the US, France, Japan, Brazil, Australia, South Africa, and the Middle East, including one of the largest international events on the sporting calendar.

The Client

The company have a current Revenue exceeding £75million, which is impressive for an events business on the back of Covid-19. They also have a fantastic pipeline of projects coming up in the next year, which ranges again from sporting events, Live music tours, public sector events, and TV broadcasting. The business has a fast-paced and dynamic culture, and are looking for someone you can bring not only technical expertise but also value to their inclusive culture. The companies Headquarters is based in East London and are offering a generous hybrid model with 2-3 days a week in the office.

The Role

Working within a fast-growing company requires the successful candidate to be very adaptable and willing to roll up their sleeves and get hands on with the finance function. The role will come with 5 direct reports, who are more hands on with the day-to-day finance such as payroll, Management Accounts, AP, Reporting, and reconciliations. The candidate must therefore have a broad understanding of Accounting and has the ability to ensure these deliverables are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Tax & Accounting compliance internationally.
  • Complete responsibility for the overall Financial Controls and Technical Accounting function.
  • Manage the Financial Operations of the business.
  • Report on cash flow on an international scale including overseas Purchasing & Payables functions.
  • Prepare Statutory Accounts under IFRS
  • Lead on the Audit process
  • Manage AP and AR functions.

Required Experience

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Previous experience in a company operating internationally.
  • Variety of experience with different accounting software (Ideally NetSuite).
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills.
  • Independent and proactive Finance Professional.
  • Ability to partner with a wide range of Stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in an Events, Construction, or Facilities Management business.

Bonus Experience

  • HMRC Construction Industry Scheme experience.

Day Rate: £350-£400/day (Inside IR35)

Start Date 10th of April.
