Interim Financial Controller | Online Marketplace SME | 6-Month Contract

The Client

Harmonic have partnered with an Online Marketplace SME to find them an immediately available Financial Controller to join the company on a 6-Month contract. With their rapid growth and plans to widen expand their business internationally, they require an experienced and autonomous Financial Controller to lead their finance function through an exciting period for the business.

Our client is based walking distance from Farringdon station and are looking for a candidate who is able to commute into the office 4 days per week, with 1 day per week WFH. The business currently has a headcount of circa 50, with plans to expand this further over the next 18 months. Their unique online marketplace focuses on user accessibility above all, and therefore appeals to a wide audience. They have already began expanding their operationally internationally and have had success setting up their platform in Europe and the US.

The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and versatile Financial Controller who is prepared to roll their sleeves up and get hands on with the finances. Reporting directly into their CEO, this role requires a strong understanding of management accounts preparation, setting up robust financial controls, and what is required to ensure financial operations run smoothly. The ideal candidate will also be commercially astute as well as technically strong, with previous experience in a Start-Up/Scale-Up or SME environment a must.

Responsibilities

• Setting up robust financial controls.
• Production of management accounts
• Managing all day-to-day BAU financial operations.
• Productions of Month-end reports, Balance sheets, and Board Reports.
• Work closely with CEO on Ad-Hoc projects.

Essential Skills

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller in a high-growth Start-Up or Scale-Up.
• A willingness to roll up your sleeves and get hands on.
• Proficient user of Excel.

Bonus Experience

• Previous experience in an Online Marketplace or Tech Start-Up
• Experience using Xero.
• Ability to hit the ground running with little handover.

Day Rate £400-£500/day (Outside IR35)
