Harmonic are delighted to once again be working with one of the UK's most exciting and renowned live entertainment businesses in the search for an Interim Financial Controller to support the businesses directors on all things finance. With an international presence, the company have grown from strength to strength since inception, organising and promoting some of the UK's most popular events and shows.
The Client
After developing an international foothold in recent years, our client is leading the way in their field. With turnover at circa £15 million for the financial year, the business is currently undergoing a fundraise with a significant amount of capital allocated specifically to aid the scaling of the business further into the international market.
The role will report into the Directors, and the team is renowned for creating a company ethos of mentorship and development. The company operate a hybrid work policy, with 3 days in the office and 2 days at home. There is also a commitment to inclusivity and diversity, with a sociable and fun team environment.
The Role
As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the management and development of a finance team of 2, with preliminary plans to build out the team later in the year, there is the potential for this role to transfer to permanent. Your responsibilities will include ensuring overarching controls are in place within the finance function, producing management accounts, managing the AP & AR functions. As the business continues to grow, the role will broaden out in terms of scope/duties such as forecasting/budgeting.
Duties
- Management of the finance team of 2.
- Ensure smooth month-end process.
- Oversee the AP & AR functions
- Preparation of annual accounts
- Review of the management accounts to ensure they are delivered in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ad-hoc projects for the Directors.
Essential Experience
- Experience managing a finance function.
- High level of both written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to get 'hands on' with finances.
Bonus Experience
- Previous experience in Events/Hospitality/Entertainment sector
- Experience working in consumer and supplier facing businesses
Day Rate: £350-£425/day (IR35 status TBC)
Location London (Hybrid - 2 days per week WFH)
