Interim Financial Controller | High-Growth Digital Media Scale-Up | London/Hybrid

Harmonic are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a fast-growing, digital-first media business in their search for an Interim Finance Manager / Financial Controller. This is a 6 month contract with high likelihood of extending or transferring to permanent.

The organisation operates at scale across international markets and continues to grow rapidly alongside major brand partnerships. This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys operating in a dynamic, creative environment while bringing structure, technical strength, and automation to a modern finance function. The business, with a turnover of £20m and headcount of 30 has posted record numbers and is continuing to scale rapidly, led by their entrepreneurial and ambitious founders.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, this is a hands-on role with full ownership of financial reporting, controls, and compliance across UK and international entities. You will lead month-end and year-end processes, manage external providers, and play a key role in driving automation and systems improvement as the business continues to scale.

You'll work closely with commercial and operational teams, providing insight and financial rigour to support decision-making in a fast-moving organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process, ensuring accurate, timely management accounts and group consolidation.
• Deliver robust financial reporting, including P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and management commentary.
• Maintain oversight of revenue recognition and technical accounting matters.
• Manage statutory and regulatory compliance, including VAT, payroll, and year-end statutory accounts.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and outsourced providers, including international accountants.
• Oversee cash management, including cash flow forecasting, FX exposure, and working capital.
• Lead the optimisation of finance systems and processes, driving automation and efficiency.
• Provide financial insight to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
• Support and develop junior team members, embedding strong processes and controls.

What We Need to See (Essential)

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / CA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong technical accounting background with experience leading month-end and statutory reporting.

• Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Ideally in Media/B2B Agency.

  Day Rate: £350-425 per day

Contract Length: Initial 6 months with opportunity to extend or transfer to permanent.
