Interim Financial Controller (6 month contract) | Hyper Growth Crypto Fintech Start-Up

The Client

Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working exclusively with one of the most exciting and fastest growing Fintech start-ups in the UK.

Having just been acquired for £100m by a leader in the space to create a significant global metaverse company , 2022 promises to be an exciting year as they look to double their headcount, fresh off the back of releasing their own token that's traded on global exchanges as well as other exciting ventures into the NFT space. Driven by their mission to make decentralised finance (DeFi) more accessible for all, they've brought in an extremely highly regarded CFO to help them become London's next Fintech success story.

They are based in a magnificent office space in Victoria, London, with access to many vibrant restaurants, cafes, bars and shops with great transport links very close by. The company is made up of forward-thinking visionaries with a passion for scaling the business further with new product lines opening soon, yet with a fantastic and sociable company culture with a flexible working approach. Given the new normal, there is of course scope for a hybrid office and home model.

The Role

They are now looking for a highly driven and hungry Financial Controller to support the CFO as the business scales. The role presents a unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of one of the fastest growing sectors globally, reporting into a successful yet approachable CFO every day as well as the opportunity to grow within the company and to become their permanent FC. You will implement robust financial controls and ultimately oversee the audit process.

Responsibilities:

• Ultimately responsible for implementing robust financial controls and ensuring processes are in order with the FCA's requirements
• Main point of contact for the audit, ensuring this process goes smoothly and dealing with audit queries
• Ensuring compliance with appropriate revenue recognition standards for various crypto currencies and exchanges
• Support the CFO with the productions and delivery of financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
• Oversee a Management Accountant to ensure effective production of high quality month-end
• Supporting the CFO with long-term strategic planning, future fundraising and investment decisions

What we need to see (Essential):

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Excellent communication skills
• Audit experience
• Highly ambitious
• Strong Academic background
• Excited by start-ups and a passion for Tech

What we would like to see (Bonus):

• Experience in a fast growth start-up / scale-up
• A passion for the cryptocurrency space (including an understanding of currencies, exchanges and NFTs)
• Experience in the Fintech industry
• Xero experience

Day rate: £350 - £450 per day
