Interim Finance Director |International Venture Capital Fund | Temp-to-Perm

Harmonic are delighted to be working with an International Venture Capital Fund who have invested in over 125 early-stage technology Start-Ups across 20 countries to find a highly experienced and commercially astute Interim Finance Director to lead their finance function. This opportunity extends beyond the initial 6-Month Contract with the option to go Temp-to-Perm following the conclusion of the contract.

The relatively young Start-Up, which was founded 5 years ago, is backed by ultra-high net worth investors. They typically invest in exciting seed stage Start-Ups in all areas of Technology including HealthTech, SaaS, FinTech, Ecommerce, & DeepTech.

Our clients are looking for someone who will buy into their fast-paced, highly motivated culture and is an experienced leader who relishes the opportunity to make important decisions in high pressure situations. They also expect the Finance Director to play a large role in business strategy moving forward, partnering with investors and informing key decision makers.

The Role

This position will be the number 1 in Finance position, reporting only to the COO and leading the entire finance function efficiently on the day-to-day and strategic side. The role will centre around driving the fund accounting and management accounting functions, as well as financial forecasting, modelling, LP reporting, and Tax. Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Driving efficiency in the fund and statutory accounting functions.
• Ensuring the fund remains tax compliant.
• Managing relationships with auditors, outsourced accountants, fund administrators, and tax advisors.
• Overseeing the financial modelling, fund, tax and LP reporting functions.
• Working alongside the COO to ensure the company meets legal and regulatory standards
• Responsible for approving budgeting, forecasting, and management accounts.
• Liaising with outsourced accountants and fund administrators
• Being the point of contact for auditors

Essential Skills

• VC Fund management and administration experience
• Minimum of two years' experience at Financial Controller level or higher at a VC Fund.
• Full Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
• Previous experience in, or strong interest in, the Start-Up space.
• Strong Technical and Commercial accountancy skills
• Excellent verbal and written communicator

Bonus Skills

• Previous experience using Pleo, Totem, and Xero

Day Rate £800- £1000/day (Outside IR35)
