The Client
Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working with one of the UK's top tier Fintech start-ups in the search for their first Head of FP&A. Their award winning app has become the leading platform for consumers to financially plan for their future, centered around an easy to use interface focused on financial wellness.
Having raised almost £100m in VC funding, most recently in the form of a substantial Series D involving notable venture capital firms, they're now focusing on hiring the industry's best and have attracted a number of high profile leaders as they gear up for an IPO.
They've seen revenue double and headcount leap from around 150 to almost 300 in the past 12 months, resulting in their recent move into a state-of-the-art office space in Central London overlooking the Thames. Looking to continue creating what is set to become the UK's latest fintech success story, they're searching for a Head of FP&A to come and make a massive impact.
The Role
The Head of FP&A is a newly created position to make your own, reporting directly to the Finance Director and will ultimately be responsible for owning the production of financial planning and analysis and building out/managing the FP&A function to ensure the business has the data and insights it requires to deliver on their aggressive growth plans, supporting them on investment and strategic decision making as well as delivering the company's budget and forecasts.
- Responsible for the management of the entire FP&A function and management of a team of two
- Ultimately own the production of the financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
- Lead on the delivery of the company's budget and forecast
- Core business partner to the FD and C-Suite in the development of company strategy, including potential M&A, future fundraising and IPO readiness
- As a Head of you will play a vital role in cross-functional committees, quarterly planning meetings and management committees
- Work alongside the leadership team to build annual forecasts as well as support on long term strategic planning
- Lead on providing insights and reporting for board presentations
- Seek to leverage technology to increase the efficiency, output, and accuracy of analysis and insight - we would like our functions to self-serve financial and non-financial KPIs
- Supporting the FD and CEO on ad-hoc business projects
What we need to see (Essential):
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Start-up / Scale-up background
- Extremely smart with excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in across Finance
- Incredibly ambitious with a desire to continue learning
What we would like to see (Bonus):
- Proven experience of leading an FP&A function
- Fintech background a bonus
- Previous M&A, fundraising or IPO experience
Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 + equity + great benefits
