Head of Finance | Rapidly Scaling FinTech | London/Remote
We are proud to be working with an incredibly fast growing fintech/payments business on the appointment of their new Head of Finance. Pre-COVID the company had experienced 300% year on year growth for the past 3 years and due to substantial investment from multiple reputable funds they are looking to push this growth into 2021.
The company is expecting to double its revenue in the new year with a new international expansion into the US and Europe that will give rise to numerous high-level projects. The leadership team is extremely impressive, headed up by an entrepreneurial CEO who has built an incredibly collaborative and friendly culture.
You will work closely with the CEO and board to drive the business forward from a strategic perspective and be responsible for the build out of the finance function with hires to be made upon joining.
The Role
The Head of Finance will be tasked with the overall running of the finance function, this is a fast-track to Finance Director an ambitious finance professional looking to make their mark on a rapidly growing business. Sector experience is paramount in this role as you will be looked to as the internal expert in this field.
If you have experience in consumer credit, challenger bank or a rapidly scaling relevant fintech you will fare well here.
Responsibilities
- Financial reporting and accounting management (FRS102 and IFRS-9).
- Finalisation and presentation to the board of monthly MI pack.
- Contact for internal and external audit queries.
- Management of supplier relationships and payment management.
- Ownership of treasury and the budgeting and forecasting process particularly in relation to cashflow management based on burn analysis.
- KPI and financial information reporting for the board, shareholders and other stakeholder reporting.
- Ownership of regulatory reporting.
- Manage and continue to build out the existing finance function with additional hires and continuous training and development.
- Ensure financial transaction procedures are applied to all refunds/chargebacks and daily customer account management tasks.
- Provide assurance from finance for debt sale signoffs in relation to distress assets from finance.
What we need to see (essential)
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a commercial outlook and at least 2-3 years post qualification experience.
- Experience working in consumer credit/lending, relevant fintech or challenger bank is essential.
- Experience working in a regulatory environment.
- Excellent Excel/modelling skills.
- High level of business acumen and a good eye for commercial opportunity.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
What we would like to see (bonus)
- Trained at a top tier accountancy firm (consumer finance clients preferable).
- Experience working for a rapidly scaling business - preferably fintech.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Multi-currency experience.
- Strong management experience.
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 + 10% bonus + equity
