Group Financial Controller | Hyper Growth Electric Vehicle Scale-Up | London / Remote

We are delighted to be working exclusively with an innovative, hyper growth Electric Vehicle (EV) scale-up business looking to revolutionise the way in which freight is transported by implementing their unique battery powered platform on an international scale.

This is an opportunity to work for an incredibly well funded business with impressive founders that foster a hugely entrepreneurial environment. The growth plans are extremely impressive, and the business expects to be bringing in a significant amount of funding over the next few years.

The company has raised over £250m in funding so far and is on the cusp of another huge raise with ambitions to go through a SPAC process at the end of the year. They are one of the first to market and has won numerous lucrative contracts with multiple big brands to facilitate their aggressive international growth plans.

Now they are looking to hire a top tier Group Financial Controller to run operational finance, continue to build the finance function, and support their continued expansion. The role

Reporting to the CFO the Group Financial Controller will ultimately be responsible for all things finance, managing a growing team and crucially leading the business through a period if extreme scale and delivering on a number of high-profile finance projects including a company-wide ERP implementation. You will need to be hands-on in your approach with a clear 'roll your sleeves up' start-up mentality as you will have a broad remit including reporting, ad-hoc analysis, and fundraising support.

You will be working closely with the CFO and investors on numerous high-level projects whilst remaining in the detail of the business managing the company from an operational finance standpoint.

Responsibilities

  • Own the delivery of the ERP system as the company scales to production
  • With the current Financial Controller, own the day-to-day running of the 'BAU' finance function, including delivery of monthly P&L, management accounts, rolling cash flow forecasts, treasury and hedging strategies, invoice discounting facility management and transactional finance / payroll.
  • Deliver historical information and commentary for key stakeholders [Board, shareholders, etc]
  • Lead on creating suitable internal/financial controls and (financially focussed) corporate governance to prepare the groundwork for a future SPAC.
  • Manage a variety of finance projects including a company-wide systems implementation, setting up of new entities and liaising with local authorities and partners across Europe to set up outsourced regional finance hubs.

What need to see (essential)

  • Experience leading a large scale or complex ERP systems implementation.
  • Experience of working at Group Financial Controller level or above in a business with a complex multi-entity structure.
  • Proven track record of thriving in a fast-paced, scaling business (preferably one which has been through a high-profile exit event).
  • Strong technical accounting and financial control background with track record of implementing processes and controls.
  • Experience working in a physical product business that deals with supply chain and / or manufacturing.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified Accountant.
  • Built teams, strong mentoring capacity

What we would like to see (bonus)

  • Experience working in the automotive industry.
  • Private Equity or Venture Capital portfolio company experience a benefit.
  • Experience working with QAD (automotive system) beneficial but not necessary.

Salary: £110,000 - £130,000 + bonus + equity
