FP&A Manager | Rapid Growth Cleantech Start-up (post-Series B) | Boston (Hybrid)

The Client:

Harmonic Finance is thrilled to collaborate with one of Boston's most exciting Cleantech start-ups, poised to revolutionize the energy landscape with advanced Carbon Capture technology.

Following a significant Series A raise they have just closed a Series B with a selection of top-tier VC funds totaling circa $150m.

This will be used to drive rapid growth seeing headcount double in 2023 and revenue forecasted to grow at 300%.

The Role

As the FP&A Manager, you will collaborate closely with the VP of Finance to spearhead and enhance forecasting and budgeting processes throughout the organization. This role will be a key strategic finance leader in the business establishing FP&A, financial metrics and partnering with multiple stakeholders to drive improved decision making.

As with all start-ups, this will involve hands-on work to build out financial models and FP&A processes making it perfect for someone with a passion for process improvement and a willingness to dive into the details while also having significant strategic exposure and impact.

Given the rapid growth in the business, there is significant scope to step up into Director FP&A positions as the function is established.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end Forecasting, Planning, and Analysis cycle (FP&A).

  • Support the VP of Finance with financial modeling on future funding rounds

  • Establish insightful analysis and performance-based KPI's

  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders, Board members and Investors

  • Analyze actuals and present findings to the leadership team.

  • Collaborate with key departments to create cost budgets and perform actuals vs. budget analysis. * Conduct commercial assessments of critical contracts and lead negotiations with partners and suppliers.

  • Produce consolidated FP&A reports spanning multiple projects.

  • Collaborate with project teams to improve accountability and budgeting.

  • Extensive ad-hoc projects to drive growth

What We Need:

  • Exceptional FP&A and Financial Analysis skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing at a senior level.

  • Strong financial modeling capabilities.

What We'd Love to See (Non-essential):

  • Experience in a high-growth scale-up or start-up environment.

  • Thriving in a fast-paced setting.

  • Experience in a Tech business or Tech start-up (Cleantech or Green Energy start-up preferred)

  • Investment Banking background or MBA qualified

Salary: $130,000 - $170,000 + Share Options + Bonus
