Interim Financial Controller | High Growth Tech Start-Up London | Immediate Start
We are delighted to be working with one of London's most ambitious and creative tech start-ups disrupting the advertising space. Having recently raised a substantial series A, the company has already progressed into a series B funding round. They are looking to bring on an interim financial controller to run the end-to-end finance function and support with the upcoming fundraise.
The company has ambitions to double their ARR in the next few months and with an incredibly impressive leadership team in place has already reached a staggering valuation given the stage of evolution of the company!
Their B2B SaaS product has gained traction with some of the worlds most well-known brands and given the unique nature of their technology there are no real competitors in the space - the sky is the limit!
The Role
Reporting to the CEO the Interim Financial Controller will be responsible for the end-to-end finance function covering both financial control and FP&A. The company is scaling rapidly so they are currently operating a lean team which means this role will be very hands on including month end processes, production of the monthly management accounts, and oversight of budgeting, forecasting and FP&A. There is a junior finance assistant that will cover most of the transactional work, but you will need to be ready to roll your sleeves up and get stick in.
Responsibilities
- Management of the monthly close process.
- Responsibility for the production of monthly management accounts.
- Oversight of forecasting, planning and budgeting processes (FP&A).
- Working with the CFO and FD to improve the financial model to support expansion.
- Due diligence on the ongoing series B fundraising process.
- Improve and implement robust financial controls and processes.
- Improve and streamline the month-end process.
- Managing payroll for both the UK and Us entities.
- Oversight of credit control and setting up purchase orders.
- Managing and training a junior member of staff.
- Continuous process improvement and system implementation to support the business as it grows.
- Ad-hoc projects working closely with the leadership team.
- Building a team as the business scales.
What we need to see (essential):
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
- Experience working in a technology start-up, preferably SaaS or subscription based.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proven ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong technical accounting skills as well as commercial skillset.
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Commercially astute.
- Experience working in a rapidly scaling environment.
- Ambitious and passionate about being part of a start-up/scale-up.
What we'd like to see (bonus):
- Experience using QuickBooks and Salesforce.
Salary: £350-400/day (outside IR35)
