Financial Controller | Luxury Hospitality Group | Edinburgh

Harmonic is extremely excited to be working exclusively with a start-up luxury hospitality group in their search for a Financial Controller to help facilitate the company's growth plans.

The Business:

The estate, boasting over 7,000 acres, is currently under refurbishment with a goal to being one of the leading hospitality ventures in the United Kingdom. The hands on owner is a successful fund manager and has raised £11 million since being assigned to develop the estate. The plan for the estate's development has been split into three phases, to refurbish and develop multiple sites for different styles of accommodation, a private members club and a luxury farm shop on the site (in the style of Soho Farmhouse).

Based on the outskirts of Edinburgh, 20 minutes drive away from the city centre, the estate is home to stunning countryside views, with an aim to providing classic but modern accommodation for their guests. The owner has huge ambitions for the business and has a commitment to environmental sustainability highlighted by their goal to become B Corp certified in the near future.

The Role:

The Financial Controller will be in charge of several revenue streams and therefore will need to understand the need for separate P&Ls for construction / refurb, retail and food and beverage. The role is a hybrid one, with a minimum of 2 days a week expected to be in the office on site. You will be working closely with the Founder, a true visionary in the industry, so it is important to be a strong and dynamic communicator.

The Duties:

  • Overseeing the smooth running of the finance function.
  • Accurate reporting of all data across the finance functions
  • Developing strong financial systems and processes
  • Leading on the Financial Planning & Analysis, including the budgeting & forecasting.
  • Identify trends across financial data and advise C-suite accordingly
  • Lead on all dealings with external stakeholders
  • Year end accounts preparations for auditors
  • Other Ad-hoc tasks supporting the CFO.

What we need to see:

  • Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant
  • Experience in hotel or self-catered accommodation business
  • Outgoing personality and strong communication skills

What we'd like to see (bonus):

  • Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Experience in Hospitality business encompassing: hotels, restaurants and retail

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000

Start Date: ASAP
