Financial Controller | High Growth Fintech Start-Up | London / Remote

We are proud to be working with an incredibly high growth, post series A fintech that is currently undergoing a scale-up phase and looking for a new financial controller to own technical / operational finance.

Having raised nearly £15m at series A the company has experienced 3x revenue growth over the past 2 years, taking them close to £40m turnover all whilst maintaining their mission driven status, partnering with the UN to drive down the price of global financial services for developing countries.

The leadership team is experienced in scaling businesses and supports a friendly culture that promotes collaboration. The company is filled with high calibre individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds who all have a common goal of scaling the business whilst doing some good.

The role

The Financial Controller will report into the Finance Director and be responsible for day-to-day accounting and financial reporting. This will include monthly financial statements, regulatory reporting, AP, audits in multiple jurisdictions and tax. You will have 2 direct reports with plans to rapidly expand this as the company enters new markets.

Responsibilities

• Management accounting
• Oversight of month end close and AP for 6 entities in multiple currencies
• Regulatory reporting including daily safeguarding reporting, monthly regulatory capital reports etc.
• Investor and lender reporting - being compliant with financial reporting obligations to investors and lenders
• Collaborating closely with tax advisors and auditors in various countries and ensure our returns (incl. income tax, share options, VAT, R&D, etc.) are filed on time
• transition to new accounting software by 2022 (currently underway) to implementing controls around bank accounts, credit cards, and spending to moving bookkeeping back in-house

What we need to see (essential)

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant
• Hands-on approach with high attention to detail
• Experience working in a very fast paced (ideally high transaction) environment
• Experience as a Financial Controller or finance manager in a fast growth tech or fintech environment
• Experience working with IFRS accounting standards and managing international entities
• Highly organised with ability to prioritise
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team including external teams

What we would like to see (bonus)

• US GAAP experience preferred
• Experience building and leading a team
• Experience working in a regulated environment beneficial

Salary: £75-80,000 + options
