Financial Controller - Fast Growth Ad-Tech Scale Up - London

Harmonic are delighted to partner with a fast growth Ad-Tech business looking to hire a Financial Controller. The business was established 10 years ago, they have a t/o of £35mill with growth ambitions to reach £50mill within the next 18 months.

They place high value on progression opportunities, and the growth of the business means you will be consistently exposed to new responsibilities and learning opportunities. For example the business will be going through a fundraise later this year and you will support the CFO on this process.

Reporting into the CFO, you will take responsibility for owning the day-to-day finance function, managing a Finance Assistant and providing commercial support to the leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of best practice accounting principles
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports
  • Ensuring all accounting practices follow legal guidelines and established accounting principles
  • Running the day-to-day operations within the finance function, this will include purchase ledger, sales ledger, accruals & prepayments process, journal entries and payroll management, billing, tax, internal controls, intercompany activity, audit)
  • Responsible for overseeing AR/AP
  • Develop reports that convey complex financial information to non-specialists in clear and easy to understand formats
  • Work with department leads to develop relevant information and statistical analysis (KPI's) (Sales, Operations, Base costs).
  • Be the main point of contact for department leads along the Business Director, providing support and guidance on budgeting, forecasting, reporting, planning & analysis
  • Pursue the integration of the accounting software with other key systems
  • Develop costing, budgeting and reporting tools to maximise opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of the financial performance of the organisation.
  • Conduct and lead the annual audit

Skills required:

  • Qualified or PQ, ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experience in an SME ideally going through a growth phase
  • Positive 'can do' disposition, and ability to forge close relationships with stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Background in a creative/tech sector
  • Qualified
  • Management experience
  • Sage experience

Package:

  • £55,000 - £65,000
  • Hybrid work structure of 2-3 days
