Finance Manager | Rapid Growth Post Series A SaaS Start-Up | London/Hybrid

Harmonic are delighted to be working on a retained basis with one of the UK's fastest growing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Start-Ups following a massive £20m Series A fundraise. Sitting in the B2B SaaS space they have developed a product which dramatically improves a client's capability to process complex real time data allowing businesses to harness data by limiting complexity without needing to invest in significant in-house functions as they scale.

As the 'first movers' in the space they have attracted major VC interest and are proud to boast a selection of the world's top VC funds as their initial investors. With a track record investing in some of the most famous SaaS success stories and Tech Unicorn, they are forecasting significant international expansion in the UK, USA, and France with ARR growing at over 300% YoY.

With a hugely impressive Founding team renowned amongst their network of developers and clients as global 'thought leaders' in Open-Source Software, they have been able to win major clients including Takeaway.com and DraftKings. With a rapidly scaling user base they have an incredibly exciting opportunity to deliver hyper growth in the coming years following their Series A.

Culturally, the team is globally distributed with most of the leadership team based in Europe. They are due to open a London office in the coming weeks and ultimately are building a team of smart, passionate, and ambitious people that are excited by the opportunity for growth both personally and professionally as they aim to build the next SaaS success story.

The Role:

Reporting to an excellent CFO with a track record of helping to scale multiple SaaS start-ups in London they are looking for a Finance Manager to support the build out and management of the Finance function. This is an incredibly broad and hands-on role, owning the production of Management Accounts, Month-End and Financial Reporting. The Finance Manager will also work closely with the CFO to develop FP&A, Financial Modelling, and the setup of a Budgeting process. With significant exposure to the wider business and Leadership Team there is scope to drive commercial performance in a Business Partnering capacity.

As expected in a start-up environment the Finance Manager will also be integral in the design and implementation of processes and ensuring robust financial controls to deliver growth!

There will also be the chance to support the CFO with fundraising projects (Series B within 18 months) and international expansion projects with a clear route to Head of Finance and Finance Director positions.

We are proud to have worked with the CFO regularly over the past 5 years supporting the build out of Finance functions in previous SaaS start-ups and there is a real theme of learning and rapid progress. This represents a great opportunity to learn from one of the best and take significant responsibility stepping up as the business grows!

Responsibilities:

• Establish excellent month end and management accounting processes
• Implementing new financial controls and processes to ensure 'best practice'
• Establish an effective budgeting process
• Consistently look at new Software and systems to automate manual day-to-day accounting tasks
• Support the CFO with the development of world class financial modelling
• Implement insightful SaaS KPI's and analysis to drive improved decision making
• Provide effective Business Partnering to in house teams
• Establish and produce rolling forecasting and FP&A
• Support the CFO with the production of longer-term strategic planning
• Support the CFO with Investor and Board reporting and future fundraising projects
• Deliver the completion of statutory reporting
• Liaise with auditors and third-party advisors to deliver tax returns and global tax compliance
• Build, mentor and develop an excellent team as the business grows

Requirements:

• Experience in a Tech Start-Up or Scale-Up (SaaS Preferred)
• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Commercially astute with a flair for financial analysis
• Clear communicator
• Ambitious and 'understands' the 'chaos' that life in a start-up involves!
• Previous experience owning month-end and management accounting happy to remain hands on until a team is built out (sooner rather than later!)

Bonus skills:

• Audit or Transaction Services Experience (they are open to someone moving from Practice)
• Understanding of SaaS KPI's and metrics
• Exposure to both Financial Controls and FP&A

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + share options

Location: London with Hybrid model (max 3 days in the office)

Start date: ASAP (happy to wait 3 months)
