Finance Manager | Hyper Growth Fintech Start-Up | London | Newly Qualified ACA

Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working with one of London's Fintech start-up success stories. Having seen total funding reach £100m, involving top-tier VC backing, they are seeing a period of rapid growth, more than doubling their revenue last year to almost £30m. They are now looking to build their finance function with a talented Finance Manager to support their growing team of around 110.

This exciting start-up are on a mission to continue helping people develop a brighter future and are now supporting more than 4.5m customers to genuinely move their finances forwards and have opened new product lines, along with a heavy spend on marketing, to achieve this.

They are based in a fantastic office space in the new "Tech City" that is Shoreditch, surrounded by other start-ups and with access to many vibrant restaurants, cafes and bars. The impressive leadership team is made up of approachable, visionaries with a passion for developing the best talent and scaling the business further. Given the new normal there is of course scope for a hybrid office and home model.

The role

They are now looking for an ambitious Finance Manager, reporting directly to their CFO who has been with them since the beginning. This broad role provides an excellent career development opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who wants to fast-track their career path to become a Head of Finance/FD of a tech start-up in the near future.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining robust financial controls and reporting processes
  • Responsible for the production of monthly management accounts (to be shared with management, investors and their bank)
  • Support with budget management through effective business partnering with department heads
  • Lead the preparation of our annual statutory accounts and effectively manage the audit process
  • Work closely with the FP&A Analyst, providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision making
  • Effective direct management of a Junior Accountant
  • Ensure all quarterly VAT returns are prepared and submitted on time
  • Support the CFO with Investor and Board reporting and future fundraising projects
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with the bank, financial advisors, payroll as well as with investors
  • Continuously review and implement process improvements to drive automation across finance
  • Extensive ad-hoc projects to support the business as they grow and the finance function expands

What we need to see (essential)

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA)
  • Enthusiastic and excited about working in a fast-growth start-up environment, particularly in the Fintech sector
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A willingness to "roll your sleeves up" and support the team

Salary: £58,000 - £65,000 + bonus
