Finance Manager | Fast Growth Multi-Site Retailer | London

Harmonic is proud to announce that we have been retained by one of London's most exciting B Corp start-ups creating and developing beautiful co-working offices which allow a community of start-ups and creative SMEs to network, share ideas and leverage the positive impacts of being close to like-minded entrepreneurs.

The company is experiencing rapid expansion across their sites and is negotiating the acquisition of multiple sites to drive growth into cities around the UK. Last year's Revenue doubles to £15m and they are forecasting £22m in 2022.

The client's office is currently based within a new co-working space in London, which is values-driven, this is reflected in their collaborative, dynamic, and progressive company culture which you will be integral to upholding.

The role:

The Finance Manager will report directly to the Head of Finance and ultimately take ownership of the finance function. The successful candidate will be directly managing a team of 2, and crucially lead the business in streamlining and managing the month-end process and production of management accounts.

The Finance Manager will also have the opportunity to work on extensive commercial projects to establish insightful KPIs and analytics. Building relationships with multiple teams to challenge the numbers and business partners.

The role also offers exposure to leadership teams and an excellent female CEO.

The ideal candidate would be an ambitious individual who is looking to progress quickly in their career and work with liked mind high-growth focused individuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of the preparation of the monthly management accounts
  • Providing performance analysis
  • Ownership of the month-end, year-end, and statutory reporting for multiple entities and special purpose vehicles (SPVs)
  • Oversee the transactional finance function, ensuring all ledgers are tidy: debts are regularly chased, key suppliers are paid on time, banks are reconciled, and all purchase invoices are accurate.
  • Identify existing and potential future inefficiencies and propose a solution so the team can continue to produce accurate information on a timely basis
  • Consistently consider and implement software and tools to improve processes
  • Work with the Head of Finance to produce financial planning and analysis (FP&A), creating efficient and streamlined KPI analytics.
  • Business Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to better understand the numbers and drive performance/ improved decision making
  • You'll also manage the Finance assistant and apprentice on a day-to-day basis - acting as their go-to for support, guidance, and training.

What we need to see (Essential):

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Excellent Communicator
  • Strong technical Skills
  • Ambitious and 'understands' the 'chaos' that life in a start-up involves.
  • Willingness to roll your sleeves up and get stuck into the detail

What we would like to see :

  • Start-up or SME experience
  • Multi-Site or Multi-Project
  • Commercially astute and able to build relationships with Non-Finance stakeholders

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Bonus + Flexible Working (3 days in the office)
