Financial Controller | Hyper-Growth PE-Backed SaaS Scale-Up | East London

Harmonic are delighted to be working on a retained basis with a hyper-growth SAAS scale up. Sitting in the Prop-tech space they are addressing major inefficiencies in the property space through using cutting edge software to offer customers access to a fully integrated end-to-end property management solution. With an annual growth rate exceeding 40%, our ideal candidate will thrive in fast-paced business environments and be part of a hyper-growth scaleup with robust international growth plans.

The Company:

This role is a unique opportunity to take the lead in enhancing financial reporting and operational benchmarks, reporting directly into the CFO. As the Financial Controller, you'll play a pivotal second-in-command role within the finance department, guiding the company's rapid global expansion fuelled through M&A. Following an early-stage investment from elite tier Private Equity investors, they have recently accomplished a milestone acquisition, absorbing a major competitor. Following their success in the APAC region, they plan to continue their aggressive expansion in the UK, EMEA and US markets in 2024.

To date the business has grown from c.£5 million to £10 million ARR over the past 12 months alone which has taken the business to the breakeven point. With robust growth plans in the pipeline this is an opportunity to join a real ''rocket ship'' venture which will not only turn profitable but also has a product grounded in making a social impact.

In this position, you'll provide valuable insights into regional Profit and Loss (P&L) dynamics, striking the right balance between expansion and profitability. Your commercial acumen will be crucial for supporting the build out of reports and various projects such as systems changes. Collaborating with the CFO and senior leadership team, you'll seamlessly contribute to the company's strategic direction.

The role is based in trendy East London offices which are in a vibrant neighbourhood. Company culture is very much non-corporate, and the team are both collaborative and supportive. The offices have a buzz of excitement with what's being built, and the team come in 3 days per week. Outside of work they often celebrate their successes around team dinners or annually hold international offsite trips.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the CFO in collaborate with FP&A activities. This includes looking at key operating metrics and KPIs as well as supporting on the build out of models for growth.
  • Generate precise financial reports for four legal entities including UK and APAC regions.
  • Prepare consolidated financial accounts for the group which currently has three international subsidiaries. This will require experience in working with multicurrency accounts.
  • Oversight of the outsourced transactional finance function. This currently oversees the accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, ensure meticulous cash flow management.
  • Establish a robust controls environment, assist in acquisition integration.
  • Provide robust insights into Profit and Loss statements.
  • Proficiency in evaluating and implementing new ERP systems, coupled with project management acumen.

What our client would like to see:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA or CPA with at least two years of post-qualification experience.
  • Exposure to Venture Capital or Private Equity environments. Preference for Private Equity.
  • Analytical thinker with impeccable attention to detail, showcased commercial acumen, strong analytical thinking.
  • Experience within a B2B or B2E SAAS or software scaleup
  • Proficiency in technology beyond Excel.
  • Experience in setting up accounts in new countries.

What we would like to see (not essential):

  • Experience in completing or being involved with a NetSuite migration / ERP implementation.
  • Experience in setting up finance operations in North America

Benefits:

  • Salary range: £90,000 - £100,000
  • Hybrid working arrangement.
  • Excellent Pension options (8% pension, 5% EE and 3% ER)
