Finance Assistant | Independent Influencer Marketing Agency | £35K

London (Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 WFH) £30,000 - £35,000 + Study Support Reports to: Finance Manager

The Company

We're partnering with a high-growth, global social and digital marketing agency (c.60 employees; ~£12m turnover) that has built an impressive reputation for delivering creator-led campaigns for major consumer brands. With offices in London and the US, the business is scaling quickly and investing heavily in its finance function to support international expansion.

This is only the second hire into finance, offering rare exposure, autonomy and genuine progression within a modern, entrepreneurial environment.

The Role

The business is looking for a driven Finance Assistant who is eager to broaden their technical skill set and play a key role in maturing the finance operations. You'll take ownership of core transactional processes while supporting management accounting across multiple entities.

This is a hands-on, highly visible role with plenty of scope to grow alongside an experienced Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes in Xero.
  • Oversee invoice and expense management via Spendesk, ensuring accurate coding and approvals.
  • Prepare and process weekly supplier payments through Bankline and maintain up-to-date reconciliations.
  • Create, issue and track client invoices; manage receivables and proactively follow up overdue balances.
  • Complete bank, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations across UK and US entities.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and post monthly depreciation journals.
  • Prepare and update prepayments and accruals schedules.
  • Support the management accounts process, including building month-end packs and variance analysis.
  • Reconcile project costs, flagging overspend or underspend.
  • Take ownership of finance reporting deadlines, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

About You

  • At least 2 years' experience covering AP/AR and month-end duties.
  • Confident user of Xero preferred.
  • Solid understanding of prepayments, accruals, fixed assets and intercompany transactions.
  • Exposure to management accounts preparation or support.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Multi-currency or US entity exposure is a plus.
  • Excellent communicator with strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to ownership.
