Director of FP&A | Series C Biotech | Hybrid (Greater Boston)

Harmonic is excited to be working with a well-funded Biotech whose early success in the cell & gene therapy space has them looking to expand their Finance department. This company is in a unique position where their revolutionary technology has allowed them to focus on the clinic while still keeping innovation and R&D at the forefront.

This company has been able to raise $200+ million in funding to date and with an IPO on the horizon, this is a pivotal point in the company's development.

This role offers the unique opportunity for an exceptional individual who excels in financial modelling to join a company whose mission is to create the next generation of therapeutics. The Role:

Reporting to the VP of FP&A, this Director position will own the build out of the FP&A and assist in the Strategic Finance function. Taking responsibility for the development of financial modelling, your input and insightful analysis will be highly valued when working hand in hand with the VP to establish the company's strategic road map.

This position will additionally provide a unique opportunity to work cross functionally with different departments within the company. Beyond collaborating with the different science and operations leaders, you will have visibility with the CFO- working hand in hand to ensure the most accurate and time effective decision making.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning cycles, overseeing Budget and Quarterly Forecasts to ensure alignment with corporate objectives
  • Design and continuously improve financial modelling
  • Ensure clear oversight and understanding of cost and R&D investment metrics
  • Support VP FP&A and CFO analyzing expansion plans and providing strategic guidance
  • Develop executive-level presentations for the planning cycles
  • Implement improved financial reporting processes and systems
  • Support the business with future funding rounds
  • Prepare high quality financial models and FP&A to support the IPO process
  • Build and develop a team

What We Need (Skills & Experience):

  • Expert analytical skills
  • Successful track record in corporate finance or FP&A
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator
  • Commercially astute

What We'd Like:

  • Experience building FP&A in a Biotech, Life Sciences or Pharma business
  • Excellent financial modelling skills
  • Worked in a VC or PE Backed environment
  • IPO experience is a plus
  • Ex Investment Banking or MBA is a plus

Salary: $180,000 - $230,000 + Bonus + Equity

Start Date: ASAP
