About the Role: Working closely with the CEO, the Director of Finance will play a key leadership role in overseeing financial strategy, budgeting, and performance management across the organization. This individual will drive financial planning, reporting, and operational insights to support the company's continued growth and success.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement financial strategies to support business objectives, ensuring strong financial health and scalability.

Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes, partnering closely with leadership to drive data-informed decision-making.

Oversee financial reporting, ensuring compliance with Canadian and US accounting standards, internal controls, and tax regulations.

Analyze financial performance, identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for optimization.

Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on financial insights and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Work with Operations and business partners to present diligent and accurate knowledge of financial management matters.

Work closely with restaurant leadership to enhance profitability, improve cost efficiencies, and support expansion strategies.

Support real-time financial analytics and reporting to guide operational decision-making.

Lead the optimization of financial processes, driving automation and efficiency improvements across finance and accounting functions.

Oversee financial controls, risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Support special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned

Lead financial modeling and scenario planning for new business opportunities.
What We Need to See (Essential)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles.
- Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or multi-unit retail finance.
- Strong financial planning, budgeting, and reporting expertise.
- Proven ability to partner with operations and non-finance teams to drive business performance.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Experience with financial systems, automation, and process improvements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of Canadian and US tax compliance and reporting requirements.
Salary: $160,000-$200,000
Location: Remote (Hybrid Flexibility)
