The Client

We are thrilled to be partnering with a dynamic VC-backed green hydrogen scale-up that is revolutionizing the clean energy transition for commercial and utility-scale applications. With groundbreaking advancements in the development of their electrolyzer technology, the company is on the cusp of substantial expansion, set to double its workforce and triple its revenue within the upcoming year.

Anticipating a forthcoming $70 million Series B funding announcement and supported by top-tier VC investors, the company is poised to transform the renewable energy sector by offering efficient solutions in both sustainable fuels and energy storage. This innovation has the potential to change the landscape for both commercial and utility-scale applications.

The Role

As the company embarks on an exciting phase of growth, we are seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to steer financial strategy and operations. The CFO will work closely with the CEO to shape the company's strategic direction and will be ultimately responsible for the Finance function (including FP&A, accounting, strategic finance, and capital raising). Emphasizing the importance of future fundraising rounds, the role will entail building and nurturing relationships with existing investors and Board Members.

The CFO will collaborate with all departments within the company to implement insightful analysis and forecasting, intended to facilitate improved decision-making and accountability. Initially overseeing an accounting manager and an FP&A Analyst, the role will require a hands-on approach, with the CFO taking full responsibility for establishing robust financial controls and processes/systems that support scalability.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the CEO to develop short and long-term strategy

  • Face off to VC investors and Board Members in an investor relations capacity

  • Develop Pitch Decks and own the end-to-end fundraising process for future funding rounds

  • Own the development and improvement of financial models to support fundraising rounds

  • Build relationships with the wider leadership team and implement the necessary KPI's and metrics to support decision-making

  • Oversee the implementation of financial controls, tax, and compliance processes

  • Ensure the implementation of systems are fit for purpose and scalable

  • Build, train, and mentor a strong finance team

  • Continuously act as a leader for the wider business often supporting on Operational, Legal and People projects

What you need:

  • VC Backed Start-Up Experience (renewable energy experience preferred)

  • Experience taking a business through a scale-up journey

  • Excellent communicator

  • Strategic thinker

  • Expert in building out finance and supporting teams

What we'd like to see:

  • Delivered VC funding rounds (Series B, C, D)

  • Experience in a climate tech startup

  • MBA, CPA, or Investment Banking background

Package: $290,000 - $350,000 + Bonus + Generous Equity/ Share Options + Benefits Package
