Chief Financial Officer| Rapid-Growth Sports Technology Business | London/ Hybrid Working

The Client

Harmonic are proud to be retained by a rapidly growing sports technology business who are looking for a commercially focussed and strategical Chief Financial Officer who has experience in the UK sports market. The company have been operating for 5 years and is now established and changing the Sports Technology market. They have created an innovative performance tech tool that has taken over the elite sports market. Having just secured funding from an excellent investor with a track record of helping to scale some of the UKs fastest growing tech businesses, this company operates as a growth scale-up.

This role would best suit someone who not only wants to be involved with a high growth tech company but also someone who has a passion for sports. They are a values-based company and like many of their clients, they strive for success with their values at the core of each decision. The companies promote a non-corporate work environment in a co-working office space in Central London. They operate with a hybrid working model, but expect the right candidate to attend the office 1 day per week.

The role:

As the CFO, you will be the second in command to the CEO responsible for partnering with the Executive team on setting both the commercial and financial strategy. They are looking for a CFO who can build out the FP&A team, as well as providing insightful MI. As a core member of the Executive committee, you will play a crucial role in setting the financial and commercial strategy and most importantly identifying opportunities for strategic growth in the UK market.

With a fantastic foundation to build on, one of the key priorities will be to transform the finance function into a more outward-facing, commercially integrated operation.

The business is looking to build on the extraordinary growth they've undergone this year and eager to explore new avenues for future growth. This role will suit an ambitious and driven CFO who wants to have a pivotal role in scaling an exciting values-led business.

Duties:

  • Setting the financial and commercial strategy and identify strategic growth opportunities.
  • Managing, mentoring and developing the finance team of 8.
  • Overseeing the annual audit process and timely and accurate filling of all statutory reporting requirements.
  • Ability to produce high value business insights, including multi-scenario forecasts and recommendations to the CEO and board.
  • Transforming current capabilities of the financial planning and analysis function, including cash flow forecasting.
  • Work closely with the Data team to empower the business with insightful MI.
  • Ensuring there are robust financial controls in place.
  • Ad-hoc projects.

Essential Experience:

  • Fully qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA
  • Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment (ideally Tech-led).
  • Proven track record of building and developing high-performance teams.
  • Ability to manage upwards.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Non-Essential Experience:

  • Prior experience with fundraising, VC's / PE.

    Salary: £120,000 - 150,000
