The Client

Harmonic are proud to be working with an innovative healthy baby food startup that is based on the West Coast. This company is looking to bring in their first permanent bookkeeper onto the finance team.

This company has a goal to make kids food burst with unique flavors which exposes them to flavors at a younger age. With less sugar and salt, this healthier alternative uses culturally inspired dishes to satisfy the youngsters tastebuds.

The company was founded in 2014 and it has had some great success since then. It has raised an impressive series A of $1 million and are looking to utilize this raise. This unique business idea has caught the attention of many grocery stores in the US including Kroger, Walmart, Whole Foods, and Sprouts.

This role is perfect for someone that is passionate about the food and beverage industry, is passionate about startups, and has mission focused values. This company is female led and has a non-corporate feel.

The Role

This is an entry level position which is great for someone looking for a entry into the startup world as a bookkeeper. This role will be supported by the fractional CFO along with the CEO who will support this individual as needed.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close tasks including preparing journal entries and maintaining account reconciliation schedules.
• Prepare accurate financial statements in a timely manner.
• Work cross functionally with other departments to support the accounting close process.
• Have strong attention to detail, organized workstyle and ability to follow through diligently on projects.
• Assist with year-end audits, prepare supporting documentation.
• Manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable duties and functions.
• Assist with other accounting projects, audit requests and ad-hoc tasks.

What you need:

• 1+ years' experience in accounting and finance.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting.

What we'd like to see

• Previous experience working with a startup.
• Food and beverage experience.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000
