Assistant Management Accountant | Creative Agency | Central London
Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with an Award-Winning Creative Agency helping with their search for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their rapidly growing team. With a 50-person headcount, they belong to a group of partner agencies turning over around £150mill globally with a strong focus on advertising, branding, investment, SEO, and digital marketing solutions.
The agency has a fantastic office space in Covent Garden, Central London, where they like to make use of the vibrant bars and restaurants nearby. They are a values driven business who are now looking for an eager Assistant Management Accountant to join their sociable, collaborative finance team, with the opportunity for excellent career progression.
The Role:
The role has been created to strengthen the finance function, where you will work with and mentor the junior members of the finance team to make process improvements. You will also be responsible for preparing accurate monthly management accounts including detailed variance analysis and reporting. To support the business to achieve key financial objectives specifically containment of costs by ensuring processes are consistent across both businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce financial statements including P&L accounts, monthly variance analysis and exception reporting
- Billing & credit control
- Assistance with budgeting & forecasting
- Monthly & quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with year-end auditing.
- Complete month end reporting process for designated business area adhering to tight reporting deadlines ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Calculation of accrued and deferred revenue in line with Revenue Recognition principals and preparation of journals
- Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
What We Need to See (Essential Skills):
- 1-year minimum working in an Assistant Management Accountant position or similar
- Previous experience working in PR, Advertising, Marketing or Media
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Good all-rounder, proactive, team player
What We Would Like to See (Bonus Skills):
- Experience using Paprika accounting software
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £32,000 - £37,000 + Study Support
Location: Central London / Hybrid
