    Finance Manager | Digital Agency (Luxury Brands) | Old Street/Shoreditch

    Harmonic Finance are proud to be working on a retained basis for one of the UK's most respected niche digital agencies. To support the co-founders following recent M&A activity, the business requires a Finance Manager.

    Small, but highly-profitable, the agency presently has a full-time headcount of 16, plus freelance ad-hoc support. They are located in fantastic converted mid-century building furnished with beautiful Scandinavian-style furniture a short walk from Old Street station which they share with a film production business.

    Their unique selling points are twofold: they 'get' the luxury space like few other agencies, and have an enviable client list. Secondly- and unusually for a company of their size- they also provide marketing insight analysis and visualization solutions to their clients. Often on a recurring monthly retainer basis.

    The role

    Although you will have access to ad-hoc support from a very experienced CFO/FD (est. 1-3 days per month if you feel this is helpful) and an accountancy practice, this role requires a real 'all rounder' who isn't afraid to balance some more complex duties with (low-volume) transactional duties. Your role will cover:

    * Production of the P&L and Management Accounts
    * Assist with the production of the board pack
    * Working with the Creative team and Account Directors to run Commercial Finance activities (including creating pricing strategies for project bids, studio bulling time and finance business partnering with the MD)
    * Liase with Accountancy practice to ensure accurate VAT and stat returns
    * Management of payroll
    * Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

    Please note that the exec team view the role as an evolving one: if there is a business case for outsourcing some of these duties mid-term, or for hiring more colleagues, then they are open to discussing this. You will need to be prepared to cover all bases at the outset however.

    Career prospects

    The company have a culture of 'promoting from within'. The exec team subsequently view this role as an audition to become the future Finance Director of the business given strong professional performance.
