Harmonic are proud to be working with one of the UK's most innovative Events companies in supplying their first CFO. Having scaled their portfolio to include a range of international experiential events our client is now looking for a CFO to focus on strategic and commercial growth in the EMEA region initial. The business are very ambitious and have a 3 year plan which will include the opening of an international office. Current company turnover is 15 million.

    Company culture:

The business is very faced paced however even with a market beating performance they have maintained a 'start-up' culture with high energy and entrepreneurial spirit around the office. The overall headcount is currently low however there is scope with this position to build a robust finance team as well as be involved with some operations and HR projects.

The company have secured global contracts with will ensure that over the next 18 months the busineess carries on growithing - they are keen however to keep a high tempo in the office so whilst home working etc is available they would like a CFO who will bring a bundle on energy to the office and really accelerate a face-paced deal driven office.

A candidate who is happy working in either VC or PE-backed environments which are deal-driven may therefore be a good 'fit'.

    The Role:

Although supported by a team of 4 colleagues covering payroll and transactional finance this is a hands-on role as the first CFO for the business. Initially you will need to be ontop of leading teams to ensure the cashflow and acrurals are being completed acurately and on time. A passion for process improvement and integration would also be helpful here. Much of the finance function will need structuring and a bespoke team built to understand the fast growth for which there will be resource.

You will oversee delivery of the Stat and Management Accounts, Audit liaison, payroll and production of relevant board pack details initially but as the finance team devleps focus heavily on strategic and commercial growth. The more FP&A-related duties are led largely by the senior commercial colleagues currently, but there may be scope to become involved in this once you have settled into the role.

    Essential skills & Experience:

A background in Events (Experiential and Festivals rather than corperate), hospitality or leisure. Early stage (sub £25 million t/o) business experience Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA Good technical hands-on accounting background.
